The Slab Designer, LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes the information we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and the choices you have regarding your information in connection with the websites, software applications, and related services operated by us, as further described in Section 1 below.
By accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Services.
1. Scope
1.1 Covered Websites and Services. This Privacy Policy applies to any website operated by Company, including but not limited to theslabdesigner.com (the Company's corporate website) and slabs.design (where our software application, known as Slabs, is hosted), together with any subdomains of those domains and any other website, application, or service operated by Company that links to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the "Website"). The software application is referred to as the "Application." Collectively, the Website, the Application, and all related services we provide are referred to as the "Services."
1.2 Geographic Availability. The Services are intended for use by professionals located in the United States and select international markets. The Services are not directed to and are not intended for residents of the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals in those regions. If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, please do not use the Services or provide us with personal information. If you nonetheless use the Services from those regions, Section 9 of this Privacy Policy describes your rights under applicable law and the limited basis on which we process your information.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
2.1 Information You Provide Directly. When you register for an account, request access, or use the Services, we collect information you provide to us, which may include:
Contact information (required):
- Name
- Company
- Job title
- Work email address
- Phone number
- City, state, and country
Professional credentials (optional):
- States or countries in which you are licensed to practice
- Engineering discipline (e.g., Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, Pavement, Other)
- Years of professional experience
Business relationship information (optional):
- Contractors and owners you currently work with
- Contractors and owners you would like to work with
You may choose not to provide the optional professional credentials and business relationship information. If you do not provide the required information (such as your email address and name), we may not be able to provide you with access to the Services.
2.2 Project and Design Data ("Inputs" and "Outputs"). When you use the Application, you enter engineering design parameters, project locations, and other project-related information (collectively, your "Inputs"), and the Application generates design results, calculations, and reports (collectively, "Outputs"). Inputs and Outputs may include:
- Project names, descriptions, and addresses
- Design parameters (slab dimensions, load conditions, soil properties, materials, etc.)
- Calculations, results, and reports generated by the Application
You acknowledge that Inputs and Outputs may include sensitive, proprietary, or project-specific engineering information. While we take commercially reasonable steps to protect such information, the Services do not create any professional duty of confidentiality between you and Company. We may use aggregated and de-identified Inputs and Outputs to improve the Services as described in Section 3(f).
2.3 Automatically Collected Information. When you access the Services, we and our service providers automatically collect certain information, which may include:
- IP address
- Browser type and version
- Device type, operating system, and screen resolution
- Referring and exit pages
- Dates, times, and duration of visits
- Pages viewed and features used
- Authentication logs (login events, session information)
2.4 Cookies and Similar Technologies. We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies (such as session storage and local storage) to operate and secure the Services, remember your preferences, and analyze how the Services are used. You can control cookies through your browser settings. If you disable cookies, some features of the Services may not function properly.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- to create and manage your account, authenticate you, and provide you with access to the Services;
- to operate, maintain, secure, monitor, and improve the Services;
- to respond to your requests, inquiries, and support needs;
- to verify your professional credentials when relevant to the Services we provide you;
- to communicate with you about the Services, including service announcements, updates, security notices, and administrative messages;
- to analyze usage of the Services, develop new features, and improve our proprietary technology, including our neural network models (using aggregated or de-identified data only);
- to identify potential business introductions that may benefit you, based on the professional credentials and business relationship information you choose to provide. We will contact you before making any introduction, and you may decline or remove this information at any time;
- to detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, and other harmful activity;
- to comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal obligations; and
- to enforce our Terms of Use and other agreements.
We do not currently send marketing communications, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. How We Share Your Information
We share your information only in the following circumstances:
4.1 Service Providers. We share information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf. These providers are authorized to use your information only as necessary to provide services to us and are contractually obligated to protect it. Our primary service providers include:

4.2 Business Introductions (With Your Consent). If we identify a potential business introduction based on the optional professional credentials and business relationship information you provide, we will contact you first and obtain your consent before sharing your information with the other party.
4.3 Legal Requirements. We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or if we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to (a) protect the rights, property, or safety of Company, our users, or others; (b) investigate or prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents; or (c) enforce our Terms of Use.
4.4 Business Transfers. If Company is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you by email or a prominent notice on the Website if such a transfer occurs and your information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.
4.5 With Your Direction. We may share your information with third parties when you direct us to do so or when you publicly post information through a Service feature.
5. Data Storage and Security
5.1 Storage Location. Your account and authentication data are stored by Auth0. Your project data (Inputs and Outputs) is stored by Supabase. Our primary infrastructure is hosted in the United States. Data may be processed or stored in other countries where our service providers operate.
5.2 Security Measures. We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, and destruction. These include encryption of data in transit, access controls, and authentication requirements. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5.3 Data Breach Notification. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and applicable regulators as required by law.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. If you delete your account, we will retain your information for up to one (1) year after deletion for the following purposes:
- To resolve disputes or enforce our agreements;
- To comply with legal and regulatory obligations;
- To maintain backups in accordance with our standard data-retention practices; and
- For security and fraud-prevention purposes.
After this retention period, we will delete or de-identify your information. Notwithstanding the foregoing, we may retain Inputs, Outputs, and related records for a longer period to the extent necessary to defend against or resolve any actual or threatened claim arising from or relating to an Output generated during your use of the Services or any facility or structure designed, constructed, or maintained based on such Output, for the full duration of any applicable statute of limitations or statute of repose. De-identified and aggregated data that cannot reasonably be linked to you may be retained indefinitely for analytics and product improvement purposes.
7. Your Choices and Rights
7.1 Access and Update. You may access and update your account information at any time by logging into the Application.
7.2 Deletion. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us at info@theslabdesigner.com. We will process your request within a reasonable time, subject to the retention period described in Section 6.
7.3 Opt-Out of Business Introductions. You may opt out of receiving potential business introductions at any time by updating your profile or contacting us at info@theslabdesigner.com.
7.4 Communications. You may opt out of non-essential communications by following the unsubscribe instructions in those communications. You cannot opt out of service-essential communications (such as security notices or account updates) while you maintain an active account.
7.5 Do Not Track. Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no industry-standard interpretation of this signal, the Services do not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.
8. California Residents
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA"), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CPRA"):
- Right to Know. You have the right to request that we disclose (i) the categories of personal information we have collected about you, (ii) the categories of sources from which it was collected, (iii) the business or commercial purposes for collecting or sharing it, (iv) the categories of third parties with whom we share it, and (v) the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
- Right to Delete. You have the right to request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to Correct. You have the right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
- Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing. We do not sell or share your personal information within the meaning of the CCPA.
- Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information. We do not use sensitive personal information for any purpose that would require us to provide this right.
- Right of Non-Discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

9. Limited GDPR Rights (For EEA, UK, and Swiss Users)
As noted in Section 1.2, the Services are not directed to residents of the EEA, UK, or Switzerland. If, notwithstanding this restriction, you are located in one of those regions and you use the Services, we process your personal information on the following legal bases: (a) to perform the contract we have with you (our Terms of Use); (b) for our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Services; and (c) to comply with legal obligations.
Subject to applicable law, you may have the following rights:
- The right to access, correct, or delete your personal information;
- The right to restrict or object to our processing;
- The right to data portability; and
- The right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. Children's Privacy
The Services are not intended for children under the age of eighteen (18). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 18, please contact us at info@theslabdesigner.com and we will take steps to delete it.
11. Third-Party Links
The Services may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated Privacy Policy on the Website and updating the "Last updated" date above. We may also provide notice by email or through the Application. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date of the updated Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of it.
